KVS Varanasi Region came into existence in the year 2012. Earlier, KVs of this region was either with Patna Region or Lucknow Region. Currently, it is running on building of KV BHU. The Primary Section building is being utilized for this purpose.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan consists of 25 Regions and KVS Varanasi Region is having 34 KVs. It covers Kendriya Vidyalayas of Bihar (4 KVs) & UP (30 KVs).

The First Deputy Commissioner of this region is Mr. PV Sai Ranga Rao, who joined this region on 9th April 2012. First Assistant Commissioner is Mr. GP Chauhan, who also joined this region on the same date.Sh.D.K.Dwivedi Assistant Commissioner Joined on 05/07/2012.
